When Alice fell down the rabbit-hole, she landed in wonderland. When Alice stepped through the looking-glass, she arrived in a mirror world. In each place, there was only one Alice.

When Alice next fell down the rabbit-hole, she landed in Central Park. When Alice stepped again through the looking-glass, she arrived in the same park and found she was already there.

There are many Alices in Central Park.

As Alice encounters Alice in the Park, they ask "Who Am I? Who Are You? Where Are We? What Shall We Do?"

We ask the same questions.
